NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Philadelphia Eagles have released corner Leodis McKelvin.

Last offseason McKelvin signed a two-year, $6 million contract with $3 million guaranteed. By cutting the cornerback the Eagles saved $3.2 million.

It’s not a surprise that the Eagles are making cuts. They are cap-strapped and head into the offseason with plenty of hard decisions to make pertaining to their roster.

McKelvin’s play dropped significantly this past season and he was hampered by concussion and hamstring injuries throughout 2016.

Philly will look to address the cornerback spot in free agency and the draft but expect more cuts to come in the near future.
