The University of Miami has agreed on a contract extension for head coach Mark Richt, according to the Associated Press’ Tim Reynolds.
Richt’s new deal is reportedly running through 2023.
Richt has been the mastermind behind an impressive turnaround in Miami highlighted by a 9 wins and a victory over West Virginia in the Russell Athletic Bowl, which was the school’s first postseason win since 2006. during his first season at the helm.
2017 was just a continuation of Richt’s successful work as Miami rose to #2 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll thanks to am impressive 10-0 start which was the school highest rank in the poll since 2003.
Richt was named the ACC Coach of the Year and Walter Camp Coach of the Year in 2017.
