    Pro-Bowl Snub:

With the first 2017 NFL Pro-Bowl rosters being released, many question some of the names that appear on them. Who was snubbed?

    Prescott over Brees:

Players like New Orleans Saints’ quarterback, Drew Brees, may feel robbed. Though the rosters are tentative, some argue that Brees’ numbers make him deserving of consideration for selection. The veteran continues to add to his Hall of Fame resumè.

Brees currently leads the league in passing yards with 4,559 yards and is on the verge of passing for 5,000+ yards for the fifth time in his career. Brees is also nearing the 40 touchdown pass mark on the season. Despite Brees’ eye-popping totals on the season, Dallas Cowboy rookie Dak Prescott was selected over him.

It can be argued that the snub comes as a result of Prescott’s team’s success. The Cowboys currently sit at 12-2 on the season, top of the AFC East. Besides his team’s success, Prescott has put up some alarming numbers this season.

The Dallas rookie is a clear favorite to win rookie of the year. Some also argue that he is MVP-caliber. Dak currently has 3,418 passing yards this season. He also has a coach’s dream, a TD-INT ratio of 20 to 4. To complete the package, the Rookie has the fourth highest completion percentage this season: 67.7%. But, he also has  arguably the best offensive line in the league blocking for him.

Clearly, Prescott’s team has performed much better than Brees’ Saints. However, does that make Dak more deserving of selection than Drew? Brees has put up some terrific numbers while being under pressure from every angle. It should be noted that Brees does so with limited weapons at every position. Most notably the offensive line.

    Brees comments:

When asked to comment on not being selected, Brees took the time to give his opinion on which Saints teammates  he believed should have been selected.

Brees made the claim that pro-bowl selections go to teams with winning records. “We just didn’t win enough games,” Brees stated Wednesday.
