Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley Not Interested in NFL “Right Now”

Amid the firing of Hue Jackson from the head coaching post of the Cleveland Browns, there are already a number of names being mentioned as his successor.

Count Oklahoma Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley among them. Riley commented on the Browns gig this week during a presser.

“I knew that was coming,” Riley said, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter. “No, not right now. You sit here and answer these questions and I always want to be truthful. The truth for me is I love Oklahoma. I love coaching here. I love college football. I certainly don’t have that itch right now. Don’t know that I ever will.

“But I’m never going to be a guy that stands up here and says no way, no how with any of these things ever happening. I don’t know that. But I know right now I could care less about the NFL.”

Riley, 35, is in his second season as Sooners head coach and has a connection with Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
