The Michigan Wolverines are reportedly making a change as they are parting ways with assistant head coach Pep Hamilton, according to a report from the Michigan Insider.
Hamilton has served as the Wolverines’ assistant head coach, passing-game coordinator, and quarterbacks coach for the past two seasons.
Offensive analyst Ben McDaniels will be promoted to coach the quarterbacks in 2019, according to the report.
Hamilton’s departure isn’t shocking. Michigan’s offense ranked 50th in the nation in total yards (419.5 per game) and 21st in scoring (35.2 points) during 2018,finishing with a 10-3 record, good for second in the Big Ten East.
The writing on the wall has been obvious, especially with the recent hire of Josh Gattis as Michigan’s offensive coordinator.
