Alabama’s LaBryan Ray Out Six Weeks Following Foot Surgery

Alabama defensive lineman LaBryan Ray will be sidelined for the next six weeks following surgery on his foot, head coach Nick Saban announced, according to ESPN’s Alex Scarborough.

Ray was injured during Saturday’s game against South Carolina, and the timetable for his return to the field will depend on how he responds to treatment and rehab.

“I’m not saying he’s going to be back playing in six weeks,” Saban said. “I’m just saying I know he’ll be six weeks before he can even start back to doing things. We’ll just have to see how he responds.”

With Ray, a preseason All-SEC selection, out of action, Alabama will now look to true freshman Justin Eboigbe to start in his place.

Alabama (3-0) will play host to Southern Miss (2-1) this Saturday.
